Innovation Takes Root 2012 will bring together those vitally interested in the latest technical, market, and regulatory aspects of biopolymer resins, nonwovens, and fibers. Innovation Takes Root will be held February 20-22 at the Omni Orlando Resort, Orlando, Fla.There will be a three hour breakout session, Incorporating Bioplastics into Nonwovens and Fibers, moderated by David Jackson, Senior Technical Leader, Global Nonwovens, Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Roy Holmes, President of INDA, will give a presentation on nonwoven fabric trends. Other speakers at this session include: Joerg Dahringer, Trevira GMBH; Jesse Lee, Chemistry Technology Manager, Schlumberger; Jed Randall, Research Scientist, Ingeo Product Development, NatureWorks; and Ralf Taubner, Research Scientist, STFI e.V.
Other sessions include: Advances in Ingeo Packaging Films, Expanding Ingeo Applications in Durable Products, Growth of Ingeo Lactides and Lactide Derivatives, Driving Economics to Sustainable Commercialization, Opportunities in Food Service and Food Packaging, Emerging Markets and Technologies, and Legislative and Regulatory Issues. There will also be two pre-conference sessions – a 7:30 am to 5 pm seminar, The Future of Bioplastic Feedstock, and a 1 to 5 pm workshop, Adhesives and Key Essentials for Laminating Biopolymer Films into Flexible Packaging. Both of the pre-conference sessions will be held on Monday, February 20.
